The Favuzzi Lab: Linking the Brain and the Immune System

The Katz Lab: Controlling Cell Death Pathways in Disease

The Bindra Lab: Developing Novel Cancer Therapies

Meet the Lab

With academic medical researchers facing funding cuts and uncertainty, we created a “Meet the Lab” video campaign to highlight and amplify the wide range of basic, translational and clinical research being done at Yale School of Medicine. Videos in this series so far have tackled complex topics such as the proteins involved in cellular death, cancer metabolism, and the neuronal circuits that link the brain and the immune system. Linking Research With Care

PUPPETS & AUTISM: YALE RESEARCH SHOWS POTENTIAL FOR CONNECTION

The Yale Child Study Center joined forces last year with Cheryl Henson, daughter of celebrated puppeteer Jim Henson and president of the Jim Henson Foundation, to conduct the first study to confirm that young children with ASD respond well to puppets. Watch to learn about the therapeutic potential of puppets for children with autism.

VIRTUAL REALITY: HELPING YOUNG PEOPLE WITH CANCER FIND SUPPORT

Being a teenager is hard enough. But add a cancer diagnosis to those turbulent years and many kids, understandably, struggle with depression, anxiety, and other issues.

After creating virtual support groups, Yale’s Adolescent Young Adult Oncology program noticed increased resiliency in their patients.

‘Making the Invisible Visible’: Health Equity in the Pandemic

Health equity means that everyone has a fair and just opportunity to live the healthiest lives possible. If that sounds like a no-brainer, it may be surprising to learn just how much disparity exists in health outcomes and access to treatment at a societal level.

Highlighting Clinical Care

We create video content for every specialty medical department at Yale School of Medicine’s clinical practice. These videos may feature a cutting-edge surgical treatment, advances treating complex or rare diseases, and can feature patients along with medical experts, or seek to provide education and awareness for a broad audience. Supporting Education

Our videos also support medical education for students and trainees at Yale School of Medicine. I was tasked with creating a series of videos with faculty giving advice to medical students on which electives to take as they prepare to enter residency in their chosen specialty. The videos needed to be short and engaging to a student audience, and featured a blend of studio interviews with faculty, graphic elements, kinetic text, and utilized b-roll footage from our extensive video archives.
